I think the category based permalink can reduce blog performance rather than if we used time based permalink. (Check the wordpress statement on codex.wordpress.org/Using_Permalinks. )
How do you think bout it?

IC .. but I don’t think using calendar based permalink will be appropriate when the article is supposed to be timeless.

The thing is the post timestamp can always be displayed on the article. In my case, I put this on the article’s footer.

But Mas Arie, sometimes, I do really need to know the time/date information about your post. Is it an old trick on old WP version, old news, old contest/seminar event, or the new one?

If not from the URIs, it should be there on the post-title or description showed by SERPs. :)
